Hello and welcome to the Maximize your Day podcast, a place for entrepreneurs who are building their business in pursuit of freedom and flexibility to do the things they love. I'm your host, jessica Rosario. I'm a New Yorker turned Floridian who knows a thing or two on how to effectively manage your time while juggling multiple priorities. I'm an ex-corporate leader who walked away from my nine to five-ish to launch and grow my business. In this podcast, I share insights on mindset, business productivity, habits and strategies to help you take control of your to-do list and maximize your day, which will help you feel more confident and less overwhelmed and getting more done in less time. I'm so excited you're here. Go ahead, listen in.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:Welcome back to the Maximize your Day podcast. I'm your host, Jessica Rosario, and, for those of you that don't know me, I'm a certified executive coach and business strategist who also owns a brick and mortar minority women business enterprise here in the Central Florida area with my amazing husband, Alex, and so I'm thrilled to be back with you guys, and I'm excited to dive into our new season filled with some fresh insights and new strategies that will help you take control of your day and achieve your goals. Now, if you're new to the Maximize your Day podcast, you'll start to understand that maximizing your day doesn't mean doing more, and I think that's a huge misconception, with a lot of people that automatically assume that, oh, I'm very productive or I had a very productive day, that that means that you were able to do more. The reality is that being productive and maximizing our day is having an intentional focus on the things that are important, but also making time for the people that matter. There are areas in our lives where, in order for us to pour onto the people that we love, we have to first take care of ourselves, and in order to take care of ourselves, we have to focus on mindset. We have to focus on self care. We have to truly understand what our systems look like on a day to day in order to help us build a business, advance our careers or even raise a family or grandchildren. For those of us that are in that season, I am so excited to continue to be able to share with you guys and pour into your lives on all kinds of practical tips and actionable advice, not just from myself, but also from the incredible entrepreneurs that I get to interview so that they can share their knowledge with you and their expertise, because the reality is that when we hear other people's stories, there's something about their story that helps us feel so much more empowered and understanding that our goals are truly achievable.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:And so, before I give you guys a little sneak peek on what's to come in this new season, I want to share with you guys a little recap on what the last few episodes look like. And in these previous episodes we discussed a little on operations, on how to develop a great launch, how to set up your branding, how to be a high performer in a world where it's so advanced and we're constantly on the go, go, go. But we also shared a little bit on shaping your own destiny, having deeper conversations not only with others but within ourselves, untapping the power of our inner critic, setting our growth mindset and our routines and habits to help us be more productive and be present. We also talked a little bit about self-inflicted wounds and setting boundaries and what that looks and feels like. But we also shared on strategies of mindset and mindfulness to help you truly transform your life. And so, as we continue to move into season three, you'll hear the trends right. We're here to master productivity, how to share effective goal setting strategies and how to set up systems for success, and so in the last few months, as I've been coaching some of my clients, one of the things that continues to come up is systems and operations. I just don't have the systems in place in order to feel more productive.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:In this new season, we're going to chat about productivity, because enhancing productivity isn't just about doing more. It's about doing what matters most efficiently. Enhancing productivity for me, is focus time, being intentional with my time, so that I can take the time off when I need to, so that I can separate from the business when I need to, so that I can be present for the people that I love when I need to, but also to be able to incorporate some self-care and take care of myself. We're also going to dive deeper into goal setting. For those of you that know, I'm a huge fan of the 12-week year, so I'll be sharing with you guys some insight on effective goal setting strategies to help you truly achieve your goals. I'll explain some of the methods that are shared in this book, but also I'll be sharing a little bit about what has worked for me and my clients as we continue to set goals that are achievable and in alignment with our vision. Because if they're not in alignment with our vision, if we're constantly developing that personal scorecard and monitoring our progress throughout the week, but there's something that's off, usually it's because there is some level of misalignment between where we are and where we want to go.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:And now we can't forget about time management. You guys know that time blocking is one of the most effective time management strategies that I've always recommended, and whether it works for you or not, that's okay. The key is to identify one time management strategy and implement it and see how you can make it work for yourself. At the end of the day, it's not the million strategies that are available to help you with time management. It's truly the one that you use. Someone once asked me what's the best time blocking planner, and while I do own a time blocking planner line called the Own it Planner, I'm not here to tell everyone that the Own it Planner is the best planner for them. The best planner for them is the one that they get to use consistently, not the one that they buy because they're excited about and then it sits on the shelf because it's too complicated to use, and so I'll be providing actionable advice on how to help you structure your day to maximize efficiency, with time blocking.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:Now, accountability is another topic that we'll be discussing deeper in this season. Why? Because staying accountable to our goals is critical to our progress. Staying accountable to our goals and to others is also very important. Community is one of the most important things when it comes to achieving your goals. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who want to see you grow in progress. I'll be sharing some practices on how to set up an accountability meeting with some of those like-minded individuals, where you can meet every week and hold each other accountable, because that way, you not only have the opportunity to be accountable to yourself, but you are also accountable to others, and you can also be a great accountability partner for someone else who's lacking in accountability. And finally, we'll delve into systems and operations, because the truth is that having efficient systems in place can really help you streamline your day. It helps you streamline your tasks, it helps you improve your overall productivity, and I'll be introducing you guys to some new concepts, some new ways to brainstorm and explain how you can start implementing these simple yet effective strategies into your daily routine. So, again, whether you're building a business or growing in your career or managing multiple priorities as a mom, I remember when my kids were growing up, I was a soccer mom, I was running around, I was actually a cheerleader mom. I had my kids and everybody else's kids, and so having a fundamental way to manage your priorities, no matter where you are in life, will help you with your daily routines and will help you be, overall, more productive, and you'll be able to feel that you're achieving success based on what success looks like for you.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:And before we wrap up this sneak peek, I want to give you guys some actionable steps that you can start to take right away today to start building a strong foundation. Number one is identify your top three priorities for this week. What are they? Why are they important? What are those non-negotiables that you have to set for the week in order to achieve success? Number two set a specific measurable goal for each one of these priorities. Number three create a simple daily schedule that includes time blocks for focused work, because the reality is that if we don't block our time effectively, we won't be able to set the specific measurable goals and we won't be able to identify or even achieve these top three priorities that we set for the week. Number four establish a routine for reviewing your progress at the end of each day day. So, if you monitor what you've been able to achieve every single day, you should be able to go back to your plan and ask yourself was I able to achieve this and, if not, why? Identify what got in the way of you being able to achieve your goals. Lastly, number five identify one new system that you can implement today in order to help you streamline a repetitive task that you have in your day to day, whether it's on the personal side, or your career, or your business.
Jessica Rosario, Executive Coach:There has to be this one thing that you wish you could do in order to help you streamline your life, and so I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic.
